Yikes!! It started yesterday! .. after the lighter week, the high reps week started! 20-30 reps per set. It sounded rough...and it totally is!! Can't use really heavy weights... cos that 20 reps totally kills you!Emma came to train legs with me, and decided to do same workout as I did (with the high reps as well). Both were scared as hell before we even began , LOL!
I really wouldn't like to train that kind of workout without a training partner, you get soo exhausted with the high reps, and you need someone to push you go through it all..mentally and physically.
So we started with smith squats:
80kg/176lbs x 20
90kg/198lbs x 20
90kg/198lbs x 19 1/2 (lmao, i collapes on the floor when trying to push the final rep.. I just didn't have power anymore! ..had a lil rest on the floor for a bit, haha)
80kg/176lbs x 20
Then we moved on to hack squat.. Our legs were already tired and trembling.. "hack squats.. .omg...." we both thought, out loud, haha.
We thought we could only do with the machine weight (which is probably about 40kg's/88lbs), but we added 30kg's/66lbs and did all 3 sets with that.
ugh....!! PAINFUL!
Then it was time to leg press:
180kg/397lbs x 20 (easy)
230kg/507bs x 20
230kg/507lbs x 20

and then some leg extensions for 2 sets (20 reps also in both sets)...can't use much weight though.. i dunno why the hip hurts in that, but not in other exercises? oh well.. luckily that way though..
And then it was time to do the hardest part; to climb up the stairs!!..lol.
after we got ourselves up, we went to walk a bit on a treadmill and drink our well earned recovery drinks!
Today we also trained the same time, but we did our own workouts.
I did bi's and tri's.
Ez-bar scott bicep curl:
30kg/66lbs x 20
26kg/57lbs x 20
26kg/57lbs x 20
25kg/55lbs x 20
My arms were so pumped and killing me, I almost had to throw the bar down and yell out swear words! Lol!
Then I had to do some tri exercises next, cos I really couldn't curl anything for awhile...
I did seated ez bar tricep extension:
30kg/66lbs x 22
32,5kg/71.6lbs x 19
32,5kg/71.6lbs x 15 (oops!)
30kg/66lbs x 16 (oopsie #2!)
Dumbell curls:
(just almost made me laugh cos i couldn't even really hold the dumbell in my hand.. so I could only use pretty light weights)
12kg/26lbs x 20
12kg/26lbs x 16 -> 10kg x 4
10kg/22lbs x 20
Close grip bench press:
50kg/110lbs x 20
50kg/110lbs x 16 ()
45kg/99lbs x 17 (....)
Rope Hammer curls:
35kg/77lbs x 25
40kg/88lbs x 20
Tricep Pushdown:
45kg/99lbs x 25
50kg/110lbs x 20
After the workout we stayed at the gym for a bit to practice posing.
I just gotta practice that i'll remember to flex all of my muscles at the same time. Like when doing side poses, you'd also remember to flex your calves and thighs etc..
Lat Spreads also need a lot of work..
As they say: "Practice makes perfect" :) So I just gotta keep doing that.

And oh, just wanted to make clear, cos it felt like people's thinking i'm going to compete this year? Cos they talked about me dieting and wishing me good luck in October.
I'm not going to compete at this years nationals. I haven't improved enough since my last competition, so I wanna be able to grow even a bit more, before I'd go compete again.
I think you guys understand.. :)

Peace out! Hahaha!
Love you guys!! <3
XoXo,
E

Hi Smiley(as in first pic)
As Ive said before I do like your facial expressions Eva and I keep on repeating this over n overr(just call me a parrot-haha)I REALLY ENJOY READING YOUR BLOG and this read has made me exhausted just by reading it-Youre certainly one strong girl and your friend Emma aint that far behind so kudoses to both of you!!!
As far as not competing goes only YOU can judge that .. a few years back a pop group orginated out of a country quite near you(Sweden)called Roxette and they recorded a song titled-Listen To Your Heart well I think that song could be be quite apt for you Eva or you may wish to change the title to Listen To Your Body !!! either way its your decision-you're the one who has to endure the blood, sweat & tears(not to mention the sacrifices of dieting)so when the time comes Iam 101% sure you'll know.
Have A Great Week,
Peter
Good morning Eva,
Many thanks for posting us with another awesome blog. Gotta love them pixs and you have an awesome lat spread, your back looks well developed in thickness and has real width. I think that now is the time to grow in this off season and i think you are doing just that. Kudos to both you and Emma for doing real well spotting each other and i am sure she makes a great workout partner.
So after all that leg training how did you manage to walk out the gym girl? lol! I hope your hip gets better and doesn't hurt now! I have no idea why that is, and perhaps it might be worth getting checked out.
I tend to agree with Peter on this one that it's worth listening to your body and the only person who knows what's right for you is you Eva. I totally understand where your coming from here and as you are only 21 years old time is very much on our side to develop a world class championship physique and that can only be done with continious dedication, time and self belief.
You have an awesome physique and i am sure that come 2009 you will look quite outstanding when you next compete and you'll make a true champion on stage!
So keep training hard and thanks again for the lovely update. All the best for now and have a wonderful week!
Rhys
Hi Eva. I'm glad about your training and is good to know the right moment for the competitions. Only you knows the needs you want to satisfy and I hope you can gain a great physique form for the 2009 contests. Anyway, I'll keep to wish you the good luck because you are already one of my favorite bodybuilders. Keep going on.
Hi Eva, great post as always! That workout proves that light weight does NOT mean easy workout!! Wow, very inspirational. Not sure how you made it home as you didn't mention that ;).
I sometimes get a sore hip doing the leg extensions. It must be something to do with the angles.
I really think that your decision not to compete this year shows a lot of maturity. Taking another year to improve will put you in a really good position next year. You can diet any time but only avoiding dieting and training and eating right will put on size.
Nice pics too by the way! Your personality really comes through :)
Kevin
